Directions

Richmond Park Academy is situated in East Sheen in Greater London, on the northern edge of Richmond Park.

All visitors to the school should use the entrance on Park Avenue. Only students are allowed in through the student entrance on Hertford Avenue. All students should use the Hertford Avenue entrance up until 11.30am. At that time the Hertford entrance will be locked and students will need to walk to the Park Avenue entrance.

The instructions below guide you to the visitors' entrance; students using public transport should walk up Hertford Avenue (200 metres east of Gilpin Avenue) from Upper Richmond Road and walk a further 200 metres to the student entrance on the right just after Parkfield Avenue.

Buses

Route 337 runs between Richmond and Clapham Junction via Barnes, Putney and Wandsworth.

Route 33 runs between Fulwell and Hammersmith via Twickenham, Richmond and Barnes.

Route 493 runs between Richmond and Tooting via Roehampton and Wimbledon.

All three buses travel along Upper Richmond Road and you alight the bus at the King's Road stops. From the King's Road bus stops walk west along Upper Richmond Road and turn left up Gilpin Avenue and left again at the top of the road onto Park Avenue - the entrance for visitors is through the gate on the bend of the road. Students can also get off the bus at Priests Bridge and walk towards Sheen with East Sheen Primary school on your left and turn left up Hertford Avenue. The student entrance to Richmond Park Academy is about 200 metres down Hertford Avenue on the right.

Trains

There are three railway stations within 20 minutes walk of the academy.  Mortlake, Barnes Bridge and Barnes stations are approximately the same distance to the Park Avenue entrance. All three stations are serviced by trains from London Waterloo station. Mortlake trains generally run between Waterloo and Reading via Richmond while Barnes Bridge trains run between Waterloo and Weybridge or Windsor via Brentford and Hounslow. All the aforementioned trains run through Barnes. There are normally about four trains per hour on these services.

From Mortlake station go right on to Sheen Lane, turn left at the junction with Upper Richmond Road. After about 600 metres turn right at Gilpin Avenue and left again at the top of the road onto Park Avenue - the entrance for visitors is through the gate on the bend of the road.

From Barnes Bridge station, facing the River Thames, turn left.  Keep walking until you reach the bottom of White Hart Lane. Turn left here, cross the level crossing then turn right on to Priests Bridge. After a few metres turn right onto Upper Richmond Road. After about 400 metres turn left at Gilpin Avenue and left again at the top of the road onto Park Avenue - the entrance for visitors is through the gate on the bend of the road.

From Barnes station walk south down Rocks Lane (or catch the 33 towards Fulwell outside the station) and turn right onto Upper Richmond Road. There is a shorter option of walking across Barnes Common. Walk for just over one kilometre on Upper Richmond Road until you reach Gilpin Avenue and left again at the top of the road onto Park Avenue - the entrance for visitors is through the gate on the bend of the road.
