Happy New Year!
The culmination to a very hectic and eventful term was a wonderful Christmas concert. This topped a term where:
The concert was very special because it exemplifies our inclusiveness as a school. All the performances are testament to the confidence and willingness of students to practise their music and then showcase it to a large audience in All Saints’ Church. They ranged from classical piano pieces to a self-penned rap, via Christmas songs, ballads, ensembles and a Year 7 performance. Threaded throughout was the staff panto, where students were delighted to see Mr Tribe and Mr Walker dressed as the Ugly Sisters to Ms Booth’s Cinderella, and - and who would have believed it? – Dr Johnston as Darth Vader, aka the Cruel Stepmother.
This is what Simon Danciger, our Chair of Governors, had to say:
“Wow! What a fabulous way to end a landmark term last night with a quite amazing Christmas Concert at All Saints Church. My congratulations to all the staff involved - the spirit of RPA encapsulated in one superb evening. The breath-taking range of talent on display amongst our students comes as a result of the way you nurture and encourage all at RPA to realise their potential. The staff Cinderella play was a hoot and must have featured the ugliest sisters ever!”
We are now looking forward to the New Year and are fully prepared for the hard work we need to be making to ensure we continue on our journey towards excellence.
Best wishes to all our readers.
