RPA’s own Fred Beatty was shortlisted for the main award in the inaugural Student of the Year Awards. The awards, supported by the Department for Education, Department for Business Innovation & Skills, Mayor of London, AoC, CBI, IoD and British Chambers of Commerce, aims to put the spotlight on the most inspirational students across the UK. There is no doubt that Fred falls into that category. As well as being an exceptional rower he achieved an impressive 12 A/A* at GCSE whilst also fulfilling his duties as Head Boy, an elected position voted for by his peers. As nominating teacher for the awards, Mr Doy, said, “… it is not one attribute but his combined characteristics that make him such an incredible and unique student”.

Fred didn’t win the award on this occasion but it was an amazing achievement to be shortlisted. All of RPA is very proud of him.
