RPA, ever willing to host events, welcomed 40 Chinese students aged between 14 and 16 to our school today. They had just spent an intensive week studying English and their teachers were delighted that they had the opportunity to see English life for real. The group leader, Lisa, spoke to me as Ms King and I were showered with gifts by students: “It’s because they have had such a good time”, she said. In addition, she sent me an email on return to their hotel, which I think is worth repeating in full. The title of her email is “Wonderful experience of visiting Richmond Park Academy”.

Our teachers and students were very impressed by the students management system by attending today's assembly. When they saw the rewards to those students who have achieved high level of positive behaviour and effective learning during the year. Students wish they could have chance to study in your school. Your students also showed confidence, good manner, positvie attitude when they meeting with our students. Our students also enjoyed the art class and PE by your outstanding teaching. This offer them a very good chance to know what is the school life like in this country. school meals are available of lots of choice, students were so pleased and like to try everything. Please keep in touch and looking forward to further co-operating for building up cross culture within schools.

Some readers will remember that, as a result of a previous visit by a Chinese delegation, I was invited to Beijing by the British Council, and as a result of this, we offered a 6-week Mandarin club to RPA and East Sheen Primary students. Clearly, this is something we will be looking to repeat in the near future. Ms King successfully applied for the International School Award last year, and we are very happy to keep on building links across the world; for example, we are currently looking to join with Link Ethiopia.
