Harlequins rugby pros offer us the benefit of their experience

This term we are very excited to be working with the Harlequins Community Coaching Team, as part of their initiative to increase the number of young people playing rugby in the run up to next year’s World Cup. Each week coaches from the rugby union club will work with our Year 7s.

The Harlequins community team are working with a number of local schools to increase participation and involvement with the club in advance of its 150th season in 2016.

At Richmond Park Academy we offer our students over 30 different sporting activities and rugby is one of the most popular. Last season we did well in various competitions: Year 8 boys came second in the borough tournament; Year 7 girls achieved third place in the borough championships; and our Year 7 and 8 girls’ team represented the South of England in the National Schools Championships.

We have no doubt with the additional support from Harlequins that our rugby teams will be tough competition this season.
