Last Friday evening, the Jack Petchey Speak Out regional finals set off to a grand start with the arrival of our guest judges including a Sam playing the violinscriptwriter for Skins, local journalists and business people. The deputy mayor of Richmond - Meena Bond - was also in attendance. Deputy Mayor Bond applauded the event with huge enthusiasm and particularly the musical talent of our students here at RPA, who really wowed the audience.

The speakers were passionate and animated, not least our own school finalists. Shiba Khider and Sarah Abdullahi both spoke out with confidence at the event, along with a fine selection of talented students from across the Richmond and Merton boroughs.

The deputy Mayor along with several other guest judges enjoyed the event so much that they offered to come in for other RPA events and some offered to run workshops with our students. A great time was had by all.
