Key Stage 3 Saturday School

posted 16 Nov 2016, 06:29 by Michele Colt
RPA’s Saturday School took place for the first time last Saturday with over 50 students taking advantage of the opportunity. RPA’s Saturday School is focussed on ensuring that students who are slightly behind where they, and we, would like them to be can receive extra support and encouragement in maths and English. Crucially, the focus for Saturday School is on Key Stage 3 students, starting this term with Years 8 and 9, as we look to develop our strategy of early intervention.

Saturday school is a 6-week programme which will take place 5 times across this academic year. It will be run by external, qualified teachers with the support and encouragement of the Key Stage 3 Heads of Year. We are very excited about the potential of this programme and look forward to sharing more about it in the following months.

Principal, Paul Mundy-Castle said, “I am very proud of this initiative and delighted with the positive attitude of the students so far. We are determined that the learning of all of our students will be secure when they enter Key Stage 4. The Saturday School is an important tool in making that happen”.
