Dear Parents and Carers,

I am writing further to David Heath’s email announcing that I will be leaving RPA at the end of this term. It is with mixed feelings that I write to you. I am very excited about the new chapter in my personal journey. However, I am very proud of what has been achieved at RPA in the last 8 years by a dedicated and talented staff. They work in a school evolving at pace in an area with the highest possible standards and do so with good humour, determination and skill. I am truly proud of them all and confident that I leave RPA in the best possible hands for the next stage in its journey.

After 8 years I do feel that it is a great opportunity for somebody else to take the lead and bring new vision and a different energy. It is an exciting time to be involved with the fantastic school that RPA is. I urge all of you to embrace the changes ahead and give your support to the interim leadership team and the new Principal once they are appointed.

Finally, thank you for your commitment and support, both to me personally and the school in general. It is important and makes RPA the school that it is.  I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible before I leave in December.

Lesley Kirby
Headteacher
