On Friday 6 June we were lucky enough to have a visit from Charles MacDougall, who, as well as being a tenor, choral animateur and vocal coach, also works with London’s Youth Choir as a conductor.

A group of 30 RPA students from Key Stage 3 combined with Year 5 from The Queen’s School in Kew put together a vocal performance after a three hour workshop. Students worked really hard together to achieve a variety of harmonies to popular songs.

Charles also ran a session for the RPA choir to improve their current repertoire, especially focussing on performance skills. Ms Fairbairn was very proud to receive an email ten minutes after the workshop ended saying, ‘what a rich sound your gang make’.

See them in action this year at Live @ The Rose in Kingston on July 2. Students interested in finding out more about the Youth Choir to contact Ms Fairbairn.
