On Monday 27 January eight Year 10 catering and hospitality students visited the five star Hyatt Churchill Hotel in Portman Square as part of our module of study on customer service.

We were shown around the Presidential Suite but unfortunately no guests were resident. This was a suite of rooms with everything from a walk-in dressing room to a fully equipped office, grand piano and, at guests request, a fully functioning gym. Recent occupants include Robbie Willams, President Obama and Tom Jones. A sniff at £ 6000 per night. A little out of our pockets.

To our total amazement we were then served afternoon tea in the Montague Restaurant. The food was a work of art and almost too good to eat but we managed. At £35 per head we were delighted to sample the delicious home-made pastries, jams and scones.

The students were amazing and all conducted themselves in an impeccable manner. Well done to Katie, Hosanna, Rahila, Nerissa, Jasmin, Klaudia , Sadeneha and Joseph. Having sampled five star customer service they now have first-hand knowledge of what is expected .
