Thursday 27 March, was the BBC School Report News Day, which RPA were proud to take part in. The aim of this BBC project is to give 11-16 year old students in the UK the chance to make their own news report for a real audience. This collaborative project run by BBC News and BBC Learning, is the biggest ever annual news day with more than 30,000 UK students turning their classrooms into newsrooms.
As part of School Report's Women's Hour takeover on BBC Radio 4, Isabel from John Cleveland College in Hinckley and Maria from Richmond Park Academy investigate how the pressure of exams affects students taking their GCSEs. Part of this report discussed the ranking system that we use here at RPA. Our Headteacher was interviewed as part of the report.
The BBC School Report team were so impressed with our students that they also took part in a feature for BBC Newswatch, which was broadcast on Friday 28 March at 8.45pm and repeated Saturday morning at 7.45am on BBC Breakfast.
