Students get a 'Big Bang' award

This month RPA's students visited The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair at The NEC in Brmingham, where they were presented with their British Science Association's Bronze CREST Award

CREST is a UK award scheme that recognises success, and enables students to build their skills and demonstrate personal achievement in project work. The Bronze Award is typically completed by 11 - 14 year olds and involves around 10 hours of project work. Our students were one of 30 schools across the country taking part at the semi-finals at the Big Bang Fair. They now have until June to develop their future-changing idea!

While at the fair students had the opportunity to meet engineers and scientists from large multinational corporations and a range of diverse and unique UK companies. This was a really inspiring experience for our future scientists and engineers and it really gave them a fresh new perspective on where their school subjects can lead them.
