Year 7 Team Building Day
The Year 7 Team Building Day, that took place on Friday 27 September, in my eyes was a huge success! It involved a series of challenging tasks and activities, which tested our abilities to the limit! The whole purpose of the day was to interact with other students from different tutor groups, rather than just our own. I thought it was a great idea and I made lots of new friends even though it didn't occur to me once that I would.

The first activity was verbal and non-verbal communication, it was little games such as the wheelbarrow race and leap-frog. Secondly we went over to bridge-building - this involved mental skills. We were given 20 straws, Blu-Tack and a piece of string. We had 25 minutes to come up with a thrilling bridge design. In the end, to test whether it was a pass, our coach ran a toy truck over it… group had passed! It was a steady bridge! Next we headed over to boot camp, in my eyes this was the hardest activity out of the lot. It included weightlifting, press-ups, running etc; everyone was so tired!

After lunch we gathered together for the final event as a year group. Relays! I love running so I was extremely excited. We were put into teams and the races began - running, hopping, jumping - everyone was breathless, however very overjoyed. The day was nearly over, there was only one thing left, the awards! I happily received a medal for my running along with others. The aim of the day had obviously worked; I made loads of new friends, I was tired but the enjoyment was immense!
