posted 15 Feb 2017, 14:05 by Michele Colt
Do you have the skills and knowledge to make a positive difference to your community secondary school?

Richmond Park Academy is on the brink of an exciting new phase in its history, with an inspirational new Principal and high aspirations for the future. We’re now looking for volunteers to join our local governing body. We’d be especially interested in hearing from you if you have a background in, or in-depth knowledge of, the secondary education sector, experience in working with young people, or a professional track record in Human Resource Management.

The governing body…
  • ensures the clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction of the academy
  • holds the Principal to account for its performance and leadership, and
  • oversees the financial performance of the school and ensures money is well spent
It meets in full once every half term, and each governor also sits on at least one sub-committee, also meeting half termly.Committees focus on key aspects of the school's performance…
  • Student Outcomes - student progress, attainment, teaching & learning
  • Finance & Resources - budgeting, expenditure, HR, Health & Safety, premises
  • Student Wellbeing - student safeguarding, pastoral support, behaviour and attendance
Could you make a positive contribution in any of these areas? If so, please email our Chair of Governors, David Heath to arrange an initial chat.
