Following last Friday's successful debut for RPA's newest footballers, Tuesday of this week saw the turn of the newest crop of rugby players take to the field.

Grey Court were the opposition for what turned out to be an exhibition in attacking rugby from RPA. A strong start saw RPA quickly secure possession and dominate at the breakdown, with some powerful running from forwards Finn H and Mahmoud moving RPA into an attacking position. Sean capped a fine move after five minutes by forcing his way over the try line, taking three Grey Court tacklers with him. With some fierce and committed tackling, RPA continued to put pressure on Grey Court.

The RPA forwards continued in the same vein. After 13 minutes Finn H powered over the try line to cap a fine move, which went through multiple phases of play. RPA's back line stirred into life at the sight of two forwards on the score sheet. Finn R, Jesse and Jack all creating huge gaps with their jinking runs, committing tacklers at will. Finn R scored a superb solo try just on the stroke of half time, slashing his way through the Grey Court defence from 40 metres out.

Grey Court regrouped for the second half and came out with renewed vigour. RPA's defensive line was seriously threatened for the first time but some strong tackling from Dylan, Sean and Nicolai kept them at bay. After 23 minutes Jesse forced his way in for another RPA score with a great finish from ten metres out. The match then evened out as Grey Court reorganised. The flow of the game was stifled as both sides started to commit penalties as fatigue set in.

With two minutes remaining Jack rounded off an excellent performance with a try into the right-hand corner. There was a moment of concern for the RPA scrum half as a would be tackler rolled over Jack's knee as he scored but he was soon up on his feet again. Nicolai added all five conversions to make the final score 35-0 to Richmond Park Academy.

All in all a fantastic display in front of a good crowd of parents and staff.
