Tuesday 23 September

Richmond Park Academy 1 St Richard Reynolds Catholic College 1

Report by Ms Bird

Tuesday evening saw a host of fixtures take place on the great range of facilities at Richmond Park Academy. The Junior Girls football team graced the all-weather surface in their new kit to take on St Richard Reynolds Catholic College first and second team.

The second team was composed of a range of Year 7 and 8 students who worked together well. The first half saw the team start to gel together with some excellent passing, defending and movement around the pitch. The team worked well to pick up loose balls and close down the attackers leading to a tight structure. However, a lucky break saw a student from Richard Reynolds run the length of the pitch and then score. RPA coped well with this shift in power and kept it together until half time.

The second half showed brilliant power, strength and teamwork from the RPA girls with superb passes, communication and movement around the pitch. Holding most of the possession the girls were patient and organised in their play. With several attempts on goal the girls continued fighting to the end where they had an excellent goal to equalise the score.

A special mention to Maddie for her excellent goal and Eleanor for winning player of the match.
