Year 11 Surrey Cup Round 1

Fullbrook 1 RPA 5 ( Craig "Lukaku" 2, George, Mason, William)

Report by George T

On Wednesday 2 October, Richmond Park Academy's Year 11 team travelled to Fullbrook school in Woking to play their first round match in the Surrey Cup. RPA ran out deserved winners by an impressive scoreline of 5-1. The goals came fairly spread out, with a defender, a winger, a central midfielder and a striker all getting on the score sheet. The goalscorers were William, George, Mason, and Craig who grabbed two. Particular mention must go to William for showing fantastic technique to score from a curling free kick and also to Craig for an absolutely sublime half-volley with the outside of his left foot! After the final whistle, Mr Costello nominated Jamie for the man of the match award, citing the centre-back's faultless work-rate and impeccable timing in the tackle as the reasons for his decision.

A draw for the next round will be made in the next few days and we await to find out our opponents on the back of three confident victories.

The full squad was as follows; Kallum W, Alex R, Jamie K, Fred B, William H, Freddie J, Mason P, Billy O, Joe S, George T, Craig M, Walid W, Leo S, Rasharn R and Ariwan A.
