On a sun-baked pitch, RPA overcame a stubborn Grey Court School side in their second league fixture of the season. RPA managed to produce some excellent football on a difficult surface and the final scoreline did not reflect RPA's dominance in the second half.

RPA started the game the stronger team and took the lead after five minutes through Ronni. Route one was the order of the day as the Grey Court defence failed to deal with a kick from RPA keeper Danny. Ronni raced onto the ball and expertly lobbed the goalkeeper from the edge of the box into the top corner - RPA 1-0 up. RPA couldn't add to their lead despite some dominant midfield play from Nicolai, Joao and Mason.

Chances came and went but the crucial second goal just did not come. One minute before the end of the first half, some confusion in the RPA defence meant they failed to clear their lines, Grey Court seized the opportunity to put a good cross into the box and their centre forward leapt highest to head the ball home. The sides went into the half level at 1-1, RPA were slightly disappointed after edging the half.

RPA started the second half with renewed determination to get the job done. Seven minutes into the half some incisive forward play from Nicolai and Jaiden carved the Grey Court defence open to create a crossing opportunity. Mason whipped in a peach of a ball which created confusion between the Grey Court centre halves and goalkeeper, the ball looping up to Shak at the back post, who coolly volleyed the ball home. A deserved 2-1 lead to RPA.

RPA continued to press in order to get the crucial two goal advantage but failed to capitalise on numerous opportunities. Shak demonstrated fantastic strength and dribbling ability to not only win the ball back from the Grey Court defence but to then win a penalty with some direct running. Up stepped Nicolai to take the penalty...   ...saved by the Grey Court keeper! A good save low down to his left hand side; would RPA rue another missed chance?

RPA forced a series of corners late on but despite having two free headers in the box, they failed to hit the target. Grey Court piled forward in search of an equaliser in the last five minutes but RPA managed to hold firm to secure the three points.
