The Year 10 and Year 11 boys volleyball teams played in the borough tournament at Hampton Boys School on Wednesday 11 December. Both teams played some wonderful volleyball, demonstrating excellent technical skills and great athleticism. Both teams progressed to the semi finals from their respective pools; the Year 11s defeated Orleans Park to reach the final, whilst the Year 10s lost to Hampton Boys which sent them through to the Third place play off.

The Year 10s justifiably felt hard done by in the play-off, having led 15-14 when the final whistle sounded, but the opposition were allowed to serve. In the ensuing confusion, Orleans won the point and went on to win the golden point.

Meanwhile, the final was a high quality affair with many extended rallies. Both teams played excellent 3-touch volleyball that was truly a joy to watch. It was an extremely close match, but unfortunately Hampton put a 3-point run together which RPA could not claw back. Second place was certainly no disgrace!
