Richmond Park Academy's Year 7 rugby union team signed off their RSSP league campaign in great style last Friday afternoon.

RPA started strongly, dominating possession and territory through some strong running from Finn H, Sean and some trademark sniping around the edges of the breakdown from scrum half Jack. However the score sheet remained blank as a series of handling errors in the opposition half prevented RPA from turning pressure into points. Finally, midway through the half, the deadlock was broken. Having being penalised for entering the ruck from the side, Christ's had no response to Jack's quick thinking as he waltzed in from 15 metres after taking a quick tap and go. The conversion was missed - score at the half 5-0 to RPA.

RPA continued in the same vein after the break. Finn R Crashed in for RPA's second try, taking tacklers with him as he went. This time the conversion was good - RPA 12-0 up. A makeshift front row of Dylan, Jesse and Lloyd continued to dominate at the breakdown, providing the platform for backs Hayden, Nicolai and Selim to continually get over the gain line. Jack was once again pages ahead of the opposition, strolling in unopposed after another quickly taken penalty. The conversion was good again making it 19-0.

To round off a fantastic team performance, Nicolai scored the try of the game. Darting in from the right wing in search of the ball, Nic weaved in and out of Christ's defensive line, leaving would be tacklers in his wake. Rounding the full back with ease, he dived into the left corner to complete a run of fully 50 metres. Ty and Felix came on to make their first appearances of the season as Hayden and Charlie picked up a couple of knocks. Christ's mounted a last minute challenge, forcing a line out on the RPA five metre line. Some tough tackling and fierce commitment at the breakdown forced a turnover as RPA protected their clean sheet.

Team - Dylan H, Lloyd, Jesse, Jack, Hayden, Finn R, Finn H, Selim, Nicolai, Ty, Sean, Charlie, Felix.
