Year 8/9 girls lose to Christ's

The Year 8 and 9 team travelled to Christ’s School to play in their second match of the season. Playing with only two Year 9s in the team Christ's definitely had the height advantage!

Report by Ms Bird

The team worked well to gain possession with great interceptions and rebounds from missed baskets. The first quarter saw some excellent goals from Christ’s team and an early lead taken, despite this the effort and attitude from the girls remained high. As we entered the second quarter the girls found their rhythm and started to narrow the scoreline to 14-6.

The start of the third quarter saw an amazing three-pointer from Christ’s extending their lead even further. Excellent marking from RPA and good use of space allowed long passes down the court to great opportunities to score, unfortunately the rate of conversion was low which meant the scoreline remained unchanged. The final score read 21-10 which was not reflective of the excellent play and closeness in skill of the two teams.

The team were a credit to the school and showed excellent determination and play. I was proud to have them with me and each player represented the school with maturity despite immature and inappropriate comments from observers.
