The Year 9 team kicked off their league campaign with an impressive 7-0 demolition job on an understrength Grey Court team yesterday. RPA mastered the conditions with a display of close control and mazy dribbling to create a host of chances throughout, led by the fleet footed twins, Lewis and Jordan.

RPA started quickly with Jake playing intelligent one and two touch football with his fellow midfield players Dillon and Tayeon to create a chance for Kyle, which he calmly dispatched to give RPA the lead within five minutes. He was on hand again with RPA's next meaningful attack to tuck the ball beyond the keeper to make it 2-0. Shortly after, Lewis curled the ball just inside the far post to put RPA three ahead and put the result beyond doubt before the half way mark of the first period.

RPA kept up the pressure and Jordan danced past two defenders and fired a dipping right footed strike past the helpless goalkeeper to make it 4-0 before half time. The defence had been rarely tested, but the back four of Ozzie, Joel, Shafeeq and Vitor were solid when called into action.

The second half saw Abdullah and Rio come on for Kyle and Dillon and was one way traffic for the most part, although Kaine managed to lose his bearings and concede a free kick for carrying the ball ten yards outside his area, to the bemusement of his team mates. He made a good save from the free kick to atone for his error and was later called upon to convert a penalty that resulted from Jordan being axed down inside the box.

Joel also profited from a foray up front although he also managed to put a good chance into the Acorn building! Kyle came back on for the last five minutes and Jordan's build up play laid on the chance to take his hat-trick and he finished it with aplomb to make it 7-0. A good performance but tougher tests on less "dribbling friendly" pitches lay in wait.
