PARENT & COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
Welcome to the Parent & Community Advisory Board (PCAB) homepage.

The overarching responsibility for Governance of the academy lies with the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) Board of Trustees. However, an important part of the governance process is provided by the PCAB. You can see more about that governance on the Governance page.

FOUR KEY AIMS
The PCAB's aims are simple;
  • To ensure the views of parents/carers are well understood by the school management
  • To help the school make the most of its links to the local community
  • To promote a positive and accurate image of the school

HAVE YOUR SAY
We very much welcome and encourage dialogue with anyone and everyone who also wants to see the school succeed. Please take a look at our current 'Work Plan' to the right of this page to see what we have planned so far.  Do you have other inspirational ideas for improving the school? Perhaps you have skills or resources that could benefit the school in some way? Possibly you see things being done you think could or should be improved?  Whatever it is, we very much look forward to hearing from you. Please get in touch either via the form on this page or via our email pcabenquiries@richmondparkacademy.org.

PCAB PROJECTS SO FAR

COMMUNICATIONS - "DID YOU KNOW?" INFOGRAPHICS PROJECT

We want to make it easier for all RPA stakeholders to understand what makes the school the school that it is in a simple, easily communicable way. The two infographics below focus on the school's IMPROVEMENT and its SAFETY. We will be using these throughout the rest of the year.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • If you have conversations with friends or acquaintances regarding our school, please feel free to download these infographics and use them. The download link is below each infographic.
  • Let us know what areas you think we should cover by emailing us at pcabenquiries@richmondparkacademy.org or using the contact form.

COMMUNITY - ART IN THE COMMUNITY
One of our first projects involves taking some of the outstanding art produced by RPA students and actively taking it out into the local community.  When visiting the art department, we have been astounded by the quality of some of the work produced by our young artists and so were determined more people in the local area should see it.  We have therefore enlisted the aid of supportive local businesses and retailers who have agreed to display our best pieces in their workspaces.  We are convinced that 'RPA Art in the Community' will be a truly beneficial experience for all involved.  Local business spaces are significantly enhanced, their customers are treated to beautiful artwork and, most importantly, more local people see just how much talent there is here at RPA.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Do you know someone who could help us?
  • Do you know somewhere or someone who could host a talented RPA artwork?
If you do, get in touch. So far we have commitments from several local businesses. Let's turn our local area into an RPA gallery!

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - GRANT APPLICATIONS

With educational budgets curtailed across the country, every penny counts when it comes to getting the best investment in all of our RPA students. Many RPA teachers are already extremely proactive in sourcing grant opportunities. However, the Continuous Improvement team are looking at ways to maximise the amount of revenue that can be generated. On their recommendation, the school has registered for a centralised grant portal and one grant has already been applied for.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Do you have time to research and submit any grant requests?
  • Do you know of any grant benefactors who we should be approaching? Let us know via the PCAB email address or via the form on this page.
