Roehampton University Trip
A key event in February for our Year 12 students was a visit to Roehampton University. This offered students the opportunity to spend time at a university campus, attend lectures on crucial 6th form skills from choosing the correct course to taking part in personal statement workshops. Our students got to hear about university life, enjoyed a tour of the beautiful 54-acre parkland campus and historic buildings; and were also given the opportunity to enjoy lunch in the student union. The day concluded with a Q&A session and it was fantastic to see so many engaged. We were made to feel very welcome by the university and our Year 12 students commented on what an informative and fun day they had.
Richmond Citizens Advice Bureau
We welcomed Richmond Citizens Advice Bureau to Richmond Park Academy recently who delivered a very informative session to all our 6th form students which was packed with advice on personal finances important to 16-18 year olds - from student grants and personal loans to employment rights and benefit entitlement.
