Year 12
During Year 12, 6th formers will be encouraged to attend university open days. The Open Days booking system opens in December and students apply in January for the universities they hope to visit. We encourage these visits as a way of informing students about the range of universities available.

College and university prospectusesDuring April of Year 12, students will be encouraged to attend the annual Richmond upon Thames College Higher Education Fair, which attracts around 75 universities, including London and other Russell Group universities from across the UK.
During their summer term, Year 12’s will register with UCAS and participate in UCAS and Personal Statement workshops as well as receiving advice from a Student Finance England representative about loans. These sessions will prepare them for the application process which starts in the autumn term to follow. 

Year 13
Students will begin serious work on their UCAS applications during September, and for those who want to make veterinary, medical, dentistry or Oxbridge applications, designated sessions will take place throughout September, to support their application for the earlier deadline in mid-October.

For other students, support sessions will take place throughout September and October to ensure their applications are ready to submit to UCAS before the Christmas break.
Art & Design students have the latest submission date at the end of March and will be supported throughout February with their applications.
Students will be able to track their applications online and watch the progress if their submissions. 

UCAS Extra
UCAS Extra is open from January to June; this facet of UCAS allows students who haven’t been offered a place to apply for other courses - students who need this facility will be supported through the process. 

Results Day Support
Staff will be on hand during and following results day to ensure students have confirmed their places, or to go through the clearing process for those who have not been offered a place. Staff members will be on hand to support students who need to telephone universities during this time.
